It started with a problem I couldn't ignore.
Lockabea was born from real moments, the kind that stay with you.
I'm a father, and I've always been the "tech person" in my family, the one people come to when they need help finding solutions.
When I was younger, my family came to me for ways to stay connected with my grandmother as she lived with dementia. We were trying to figure out how to know she was safe and reachable in real time. But there wasn't a simple, reliable solution that worked across all situations. That stayed with me.
Over time, life added more moments that reinforced the same feeling. A family loss made me think about how different things might have been with faster communication during everyday routines. And like many people, I've heard stories that stay with you, like a young boy who went missing in the cold and didn't make it home.
When something goes wrong, a phone is not always enough.
Phones get left behind. They get lost. They run out of battery. And they aren't always reachable when they matter most.
That's what led to Lockabea. Not to replace a smartphone, but to create something more focused. A device built specifically around personal security and staying connected in real life, using independent cellular connectivity, real-time communication, GPS awareness, and a secure lock-and-key band system.
The goal is simple: to make personal security something that is not complicated, not forgotten, and not dependent on carrying the right device at the right time. Something that is always there when you need it.
